abstractism

Yes, I know that is not a real word but fake is the feeling I get when I hear statements like this. This comes from one of the most recognized design groups in the U.S.

The Bowl of the Week

This one has some raisins in it this time. The reason I say that is some people like them others don't.

Later, I (the chef) will modify my recipe for a couple of those logos.

"Graphalytical" Courtesy Flush

About a year ago, Forbes ran an article about CrowdSpring. For those who don't know what CS is, companies submit projects to CS and creatives do spec work to try and win prize money. This completely defeats the logic behind the concepts. One major problem with this clearing house concept is the lack of research behind the company and the logo. The analyzation of the logo is where the strength behind it comes from. The second thing is the company that submitted the job (while they do have to choose one design) does not have to use the design. An actual designer will generally create standards for use, but the company gets nothing. They could completely misuse the logo due to no guidelines being created.

The award for the winning design if basically a "courtesy flush."

More than coffee for breakfast

Welcome everyone to the first post of Brand Cereal. Things to expect from me are as follows:

1. Ideas on corporate identity and brand awareness
2. More than one post per week (hopefully)
3. Occasional randomness
4. Logo highs and lows

If anyone has any suggestions as far as extras feel free to let me know. There is no guarantee they will be used but "you'll figure it out."
